SENDIK'S SLOPPY JOES
The quest is over, the perfect sloppy joe recipe is finally discovered, world peace is on it's way.....
This recipe comes from the deli of an upscale grocery store in our city called Sendiks. Rich people pay too much for sloppy joes - the peasants have taken their pitchforks and torches and revolted and stolen the secret recipe! Actually it was published in the Milwaukee Journal Newspaper but yeah same difference....
3 3/4 lbs ground beef
1 cup diced celery
1 cup diced onion
1 diced green pepper
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
2 cups ketchup
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Directions:
Saute meat with vegetables. Drain. Add remaining ingrediants and simmer over low heat 20 minutes.
